Deportees Hope for Second Chance in U.S.

The Immigration Bill introduced to the Senate last month may give hope yet to those who have been deported from the U.S.  The bill would give tens of thousands of deportees without serious criminal records who have a child, parent or spouse with a green card or American citizenship a second chance.  Those who entered the U.S. before there 16th birthday would also be eligible.  Angelica Salas, director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles states, “This is the only way to reunite families that have been destroyed by our outdated, broken and cruel immigration policies.”
