Increased EB5 Petitions from India in the Cards?

The Reserve Bank of India, analogous to the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank, raised the foreign limit investment to $125,000 from $75,000. This comes after The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) lowered the limit to $75,000 from $200,000 last year in the midst of the volatile rupee value crisis. This move is good news for a variety of reasons. Wealthy Indians looking to invest or purchase property outside of India are no longer prohibited from doing so, as the rupee has stabilized enough to allow investment abroad, and India’s economy is due for a short term boom. This also means that the number of prospective EB5 clients are likely to increase as well, as obtaining special permission from the RBI for EB5 investments in the U.S. is unlikely to be necessary any longer.
