Bollywood Star Detained by US Authorities Once Again!

Well, the boys at the airport have caused a stir again.  Last week, Indian heart-throb Shah Rukh Khan, who has acted in over eighty films, won fourteen Filmfare Awards, honored by the Government of India with the Padma Shri was detained by the US immigration officials for over 90 minutes at the White Plains Airport.

Khan did not come in through the main New York airport, JFK; moreover  was traveling from India in a private plane to deliver a speech at Yale University which conferred him with the prestigious Chubb fellowship.

“Yes it always happens, it’s nice. Whenever I start feeling arrogant about myself, I always take a trip to America,” he joked with students at the Yale event.

“The immigration guys kick the stars out of stardom,” said Khan, who boasted of some small victories when he was questioned under detention, such as fibbing about his height.

“The next time I’m gonna be more adventurous. What color are you? I’m gonna say white,” Khan said.

Indian’s External Affairs minister will be taking up Khan’s detention issue with the US authorities.
