Supreme Court Women: The Power of Four
An historic event marks history, as the four women of eminence (Former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsgburg, Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Elena Kegan) who serve on the U.S. Supreme Court appeared at the Newseum in Washington on Wednesday night (4/11/12) celebrated the 30th anniversary of the appointment of the first one female Justice on the high court of the country, Retired Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. It was the first joint appearance of the current and former female justices at a public forum. It was a reflection of Justice O’Connor legacy during her term. She mentioned serving on the Supreme Court was “not a goal for her but it was nice to be the first women, but definitely didn’t want to be the last.” Another interesting fact is that all of the three current female justices are from New York and the constant liberal voice.
