Mona Shah, Esq. Honored Guest at the Global Investment Immigration Summit Forum & Exhibition

Guangzhou, China – Mona Shah & Associates (“MSA”) kicked the new year off with a bang! We were active participants at the Global Investment Immigration Summit Forum & Exhibition held by the Guangdong Entry & Exit Immigration Association (GDEIA).  Mona Shah, Esq. was invited as an honored guest and Speaker.  The summit was held in the Four Seasons Hotel from January 8-10, 2016.

Several US EB-5 projects were exhibited throughout the conference hall, of which four were represented by MSA: 1) NYC Green Transportation developed by NuRide Transportation Group; 2) New York Farrington Tower developed by Century Development Group; 3) Polercoaster Amusement Park developed by York Resources (Robert & Bernard Friedman); and 4) Virgin Hotel developed by Lam Group.  Interestingly, Hudson Companies is developing a new project with the Brooklyn Heights Public Library, which at first, led many to believe the project would be unable to repay its investors.  Lo and behold, the library will be renovated with a new branch on the ground floor and a condo tower rising above it, designed similarly to the Flatiron building.  However, “the project is a controversial one given that it replaces a freestanding library with space at the bottom of a residential tower in exchange for a one-time infusion of funds for the cash-strapped Brooklyn Public Library system.”[1]

Also notably present as a distinguished guest was former US Representative Aaron Schock (IL – R).  Congressman Schock stated that February would be the potential month for Congress to act on the EB-5 Bill, but thinks Congress will not do so quickly.  He believes there will be another extension in September, especially with the US going into election year.

As seen from this exhibition, EB-5 projects and investors are not slowing down!

The MSA team will be in attendance at the EB-5 Investors’ 2016 Las Vegas EB-5 Conference from January 15-16, 2016.  Please stop by our booth!
